Washington, DC & Northern Virigina
St. Amand Counseling Associates specializes in supporting emotional balance. I have been practicing in DC and VA with over 15 years of experience working in cities like Brooklyn, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Baton Rouge/New Orleans, LA. I have a significant amount of training in providing couples/ individual/ group therapy to teenagers and adults experiencing a variety of family and emotional issues. In addition, at St.Amand Counseling Associates, work with those who have experienced trauma, depression, grief/loss, diagnosed with mood disorders, substance abuse and emotional struggles that impede progress towards emotional balance. An emphasis is placed on the whole person. Links are made between a person's childhood; their thoughts about themselves; their world; emotions; spiritual connections; and how their physical responses may contribute to their current state of being. Visual life maps and therapeutic techniques are utilized to further support change.
I believe that therapy is an instrument that can be used to increase self awareness, self-actualization and overall sense of wellness. My hope is to support positive change and help clients identify goals for treatment and live up to their God given potentials of success, peace and inner joy.
